Atomic 47 Labs is a Canadian, AI-native venture studio headquartered in Kelowna, BC, building applied AI for industrial processes that have been instrumented for decades but never made intelligent. FermentDT is our answer to a problem every fermentation operator knows: the tanks are wired, the data is flowing, and yet batches still stick, spoil, and drift — because the control layer holds setpoints but doesn't predict, nobody can sample every tank every hour, and the know-how to steer a batch lives in one expert's head. FermentDT closes that gap with a supervisory AI layer that turns existing instrumentation into foresight.
The product is being proven the hard way — on a real production process, not a lab bench. Through Ai26.10, a 12-month R&D consortium backed by Protein Industries Canada, Atomic 47 is partnered with Crush Dynamics Inc in Summerland, BC, to build and validate the FermentDT stack on CDI's industrial fermentation. That pilot is both our proving ground and our lighthouse reference: soft sensors, a hybrid digital twin, predictive control, and anomaly detection, validated on tanks that matter to a paying operation.
Our roots are in the Okanagan — Canada's densest concentration of fermentation expertise, from a $2.8B wine industry to a fast-growing craft beverage scene — and that's where FermentDT goes to market first, before expanding across industrial fermentation more broadly.

Built alongside operators
Built alongside fermentation operators, not just for them, and validated on a live industrial fermentation, not a lab bench. The failure modes are real, the constraints are real, and “works in the simulator” isn’t the bar.

An optimization layer over the PLC/SCADA you already run — vendor-neutral, software-only, no rip-and-replace. We make existing instrumentation intelligent instead of replacing it.
Trust is earned, not assumed
FermentDT starts as an advisor: it predicts and recommends, and never moves your plant without confirmation. Automatic control is switched on only after it has proven itself in a pilot, with your team’s approval.

The fermentation science and algorithms behind the soft sensors and the digital twin are documented publicly. Methods, not just marketing.
Every product runs on our own AI platform and deploys on-premise, in the cloud or both, with Canadian data residency when it’s required.
